Hello Everyone and welcome to 2024! We are beyond excited to get back to creating and doing what we love most - making you feel BEAUTIFUL!
On behalf of all of us here at Makeupjedi Inc. we want to personally thank you for all of your continued support over the past 12 years.
Here are our most asked questions:
What do I do if I am feeling ill and will I be charged a late cancellation fee?
As always, if you are feeling unwell or have been exposed to an individual that has tested positive for Covid-19 in last 24hrs prior to your appointment, we urge you to reschedule your appointment for when you are feeling better or have tested negative for Covid. As a courteousy, we will waive the usual cancellation fee if clients reschedule due to illness or exposure.
How many people can book a service?
For wedding parties we require there to be a minimum of 3 people to confirm a booking. However, for a trial session we require all parties in the wedding party to make separate bookings for their sessions if possible or please inform us when booking if another party member would like to have a trial session on the same date.
How far in advance should I book?
Typically we book a year or two in advance, so booking early is always highly recommended. However we do take the occasional "last minute" request, but always recommend between 6 months to a year to guarantee a spot. If this is a non-bridal event, we ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice for a complete booking.
How do I reserve my booking?
To secure and reserve your special day or event with us, we require a 50.00 deposit. This is to guarantee your spot with us and certify we will not book with another wedding party. This amount is non-refundable and will be taken off the final balance owing.
What if I have to cancel my wedding due to unforseen circumstances or Covid-19?
If your wedding is rescheduled to another date and we cannot commit to the new date, or if the wedding has to be cancelled due to unforeseen/emergency reasons we will by all means return the deposit that was made to you via e-transfer.
If in the event you decide against using our services, this refund is non-refundable.
When should I book my trial session?
There is no specific time when you are required to book. I typically suggest to at least 2 months prior to your wedding but I have had clients book a year in advance for this as well. Trials can be done to suit your schedule needs. Daytime and weekends work best, but evening bookings can also be arranged.
What can I expect during my bridal trial session?
For a hair and makeup trial session, full makeup and hair styling will be done - similar to what will happen on the actual wedding day. I always suggest that the bride provide a picture of the style they would like to achieve for the wedding day. This gives a us a clear visual on what your likes/dislikes are and what can work for you depending on face shape, hair length/thickness, etc.
Also having your veil, and hair accessories on hand during your trial is helpful when determining style.
Do you come to my location for the wedding day and trial session?
Yes, as an onsite makeup and hair team we go to your location of choice to perform the makeup and hair services.
What are the benefits of us coming to you? Having our professional makeup artists and hair stylists come to you will not only make the day go by smoother but will also keep your mind at ease all the while having the comfort of your own environment. No need for dressing up, PJ's are always welcomed!
Do I have to have a trial?
No. You are not required to have a trial in order for us to book with you. This is merely a suggestion. However, we highly recommend one. This gives us an opportunity to meet and chat about what your vision is for the special day - and most importantly you can see for yourself what that vision will look like on the wedding day.
Update: We are now offering Virtual Consultations prior to your trial session. Please contact us for more information.
How much time should I expect for a trial?
Typically hair and makeup trial sessions take between 1.5 - 2 hours in length. Individual service trial sessions can last between 1 - 1.5 hours.
How much time is required for each person on the wedding day?
For hair services , it takes between 35 -45 mins for the average person. However this time could increase to amounts of 60 mins per person ( depending on length and thickness of the hair).
For makeup services, it takes approximately 30 - 45 mins per person.
What do I do if I have sensitive skin to makeup products?
Whether you have a mild or severe sensitivity/allergy, we ALWAYS recommend you schedule a consultation ( virtual or in person) to ascertain what would be best for your situation. In the most extreme cases where someone is anaphylactic ( life threatening), we would ABSOLUTELY recommend you bring in your own skincare/cosmetics or in rare cases hair products.
Do you use Vegan/Cruelty Free products?
As a valued consumer myself I always strive to search out and use products that are cruelty free/not tested on animals. We also have a small inventory of vegan products that we use, this is upon request.
What other products do you use?
We use product brands such as Temptu, Nars, Smashbox, Tarte, and many others. If there is a specific brand that you require/or like to use, let us know and we can always adjust to your liking.
Is there a travel fee?
We do not charge a travel fee for locations inside our local regions of Niagara/ Hamilton. Locations outside of these areas will be subject to a travel fee of 45.00 or more per artist/stylist performing a service depending on the radius.
When is the wedding day balance due?
The remaining balance owing on the wedding day is due the week of your event. I usually suggest a few days before to make final payment as this makes it easier on all parties. Leaving payment to the wedding day can lead to errors due to the hectic flow of the day.
What type of payment do you take?
For both the wedding day and trial session I take only e-transfer or cash payment at this time. If multiple people from the wedding party are paying separate, please let us know prior to making payment. A consolidated payment of all services is recommended.
We do not take credit card payment at this time.
